Surtout quand c\u2019est beau, color\u00e9 et que \u00e7a go\u00fbte\u2026 sucr\u00e9 !<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 18.0pt 0cm;\">Mat\u00e9riel n\u00e9cessaire<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Un verre ou bocal en vitre;<\/li>\n<li>Quatre contenants pour mettre les diff\u00e9rents m\u00e9langes (des verres, des bols, des Tupperware\u2026);<\/li>\n<li>Du colorant alimentaire (au moins 4 couleurs);<\/li>\n<li>Du sucre blanc;<\/li>\n<li>De l\u2019eau chaude;<\/li>\n<li>Une poire \u00e0 jus ou pipette (optionnel).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>\u00c9tapes de r\u00e9alisation<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Mesurez\u00a0et versez une demi-tasse d\u2019eau chaude* par contenant;<\/li>\n<li>Ajoutez du colorant de votre choix \u00e0 chaque contenant. Nous avons choisi bleu, vert, jaune et bleu. Vous pouvez aussi faire des combinaisons ! Profitez-en pour en apprendre plus\u00a0sur les m\u00e9langes de couleurs (jaune et rouge pour faire de l\u2019orange, bleu et rouge pour faire du mauve, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Ajoutez des quantit\u00e9s diff\u00e9rentes de sucre dans chaque contenant\u00a0: dans notre cas,\u00a06 cuill\u00e8res (c.)\u00a0\u00e0 soupe dans le bleu, 4 c. \u00e0 soupe dans le vert, 2 c. \u00e0 soupe dans le jaune et aucune dans le rouge.<\/li>\n<li>M\u00e9langez bien jusqu\u2019\u00e0 que tout le sucre soit dissous;<\/li>\n<li>Attendez que les m\u00e9langes aient refroidit;<\/li>\n<li>Versez le m\u00e9lange bleu (ou le m\u00e9lange avec le plus de sucre si vous utilisez d\u2019autres couleurs) dans le verre;<\/li>\n<li>Versez le m\u00e9lange vert (la deuxi\u00e8me plus haute concentration de sucre) tr\u00e8s lentement. Pour ce faire, laisser couler un tr\u00e8s petit filet du liquide sur la paroi du verre. Pour plus de pr\u00e9cision, utilisez une poire \u00e0 jus ou une pipette. L\u2019important, c\u2019est de faire cela tout en douceur pour ne pas d\u00e9ranger le liquide d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans le verre et \u00e9viter que les deux liquides se m\u00e9langent. Cette \u00e9tape est la plus complexe et peut demander un peu de pratique !<\/li>\n<li>De la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on, versez par la suite le jaune et en dernier, le rouge (ou suivant l\u2019ordre de concentration de sucre pour terminer avec le m\u00e9lange sans sucre);<\/li>\n<li>Mettez votre colonne de densit\u00e9 au milieu de la table ou au bord de la fen\u00eatre pour faire une belle d\u00e9coration pour votre maison !<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>*Attention ! Demandez l\u2019aide d\u2019un adulte pour manipuler l\u2019eau chaude!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Explication scientifique<\/h2>\n<p>Les liquides color\u00e9s de cet exp\u00e9rience restent s\u00e9par\u00e9s \u00e0 cause de leur masse volumique.<\/p>\n<p>La\u00a0<strong>masse volumique<\/strong>\u00a0est le rapport entre la masse d\u2019un objet et le volume occup\u00e9 par l\u2019objet, ou, en d\u2019autres mots, c\u2019est la mesure de la quantit\u00e9 de choses dans un certain espace. Quand on ajoute du sucre dans l\u2019eau, on augmente sa masse volumique \u2013 on ajoute plus de choses dans un m\u00eame espace.<\/p>\n<p>En gardant la m\u00eame quantit\u00e9 d\u2019eau mais en augmentant la quantit\u00e9 de sucre, vous avez cr\u00e9\u00e9 des solutions qui ont des masses volumiques de plus en plus grandes. Le plus de sucre dissous dans l\u2019eau, le plus grand sera sa masse volumique.<\/p>\n<p>La diff\u00e9rence entre la masse volumique des liquides explique pourquoi ils se sont empil\u00e9s les uns sur les autres. Ceux avec une plus grande masse volumique seront plus au fond et ceux avec une plus petite masse volumique seront plus en haut ! Ce principe explique, par exemple, pourquoi une balle de styromousse flotte sur l\u2019eau et une balle de m\u00eame grandeur mais d\u2019un mat\u00e9riel plus dense, comme le fer, coule. Quand on compare la masse volumique d\u2019un mat\u00e9riel avec celle de l\u2019eau, on utilise le terme\u00a0<strong>densit\u00e9<\/strong>. La styromousse est moins dense que l\u2019eau tandis que le fer est plus dense que l\u2019eau.<\/p>\n<h2>Pour aller plus loin<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Seriez-vous capable de faire une colonne avec les sept couleurs de l\u2019arc-en-ciel?<\/li>\n<li>Essayez aussi d\u2019utiliser d\u2019autres liquides\u00a0: de l\u2019huile, de l\u2019alcool \u00e0 friction, du sirop de ma\u00efs, du savon \u00e0 vaisselle\u2026 afin de d\u00e9couvrir lesquels ont de plus grandes masses volumiques !<\/li>\n<li>Servez-vous du principe de masse volumique pour \u00eatre un(e) v\u00e9ritable serveur\/serveuse\u00a0en servant des breuvages \u00e9tag\u00e9s color\u00e9s ! Vous pouvez utiliser du sirop de cassis ou de menthe en bas, un jus au centre et une boisson gausseuse ou de l\u2019eau p\u00e9tillante color\u00e9e en haut. Les adultes peuvent essayer avec d\u2019autres ingr\u00e9dients aussi\u2026 le tout \u00e0 consommer avec mod\u00e9ration bien s\u00fbr \ud83d\ude09<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>FAQ<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Pour quel groupe d\u2019\u00e2ge l\u2019activit\u00e9 est recommand\u00e9e?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019activit\u00e9 est recommand\u00e9e \u00e0 partir du 2\u00e8me cycle du primaire.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Je n\u2019arrive pas \u00e0 bien voir l\u2019arc-en-ciel dans le verre, qu\u2019est-ce que je peux faire ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Le secret c\u2019est d\u2019aller le plus doucement possible. Si vous perturbez les liquides dans le verre en versant la prochaine couche, le tout va se m\u00e9langez et vous ne verrez plus des couleurs s\u00e9par\u00e9es.
